I just wanted to connect the old screen of my dad with my laptop. Unfortunately, the screen does not receive a signal and immediately returns to sleep mode. Have tried it with a VGA and HDMI on DisplayPort, unfortunately unsuccessful. : /

On my laptop you can switch the external monitor port on / off with a shortcut Fn + (6).
Standard was the always off.
The key combination was mentioned in the description of the laptop and you can see that a small blue "icon", which is located on the key (in my case, right at the top of the number key (6)).
