My Lan cable is only recognized by my laptop, but not by other devices. Why?

I've laid a LAN cable from my living room to my bedroom, but it's just being recognized by my laptop. Other devices such as my LAN cable switch or my TV do not recognize the LAN cable. Can someone help me, please?
