I reset my Windows 10 computer before the sale and selected that not only the files but everything should be completely removed. Can I assume that I can safely sell this laptop on eBay without fear that something will remain on the laptop?
No, definitely not! A lot of data and settings have been deleted, but you can still find them on the hard drive if they have not been accidentally overwritten with other data.
With https://docs.microsoft.com/...ds/sdelete you can overwrite the free areas of the hard disk with zeros:
sdelete -z c:
Are there recovery points on the partition? I don't know if the reset will delete them for sure. Is an HDD or SSD installed? Some SSD manufacturers offer their own deletion tools.
