I would like to upgrade my old laptop (Ideapad Z710) and install Windows 10 (clean install). For this I'm booting from a USB stick on which I have installed Windows 10.
When selecting the system partition, I get the error message that there's no GPT file system. Apparently my PC wants to install it in UEFI mode. I would like to receive all other partitions (including files) and therefore install in legacy mode.
How do I set the PC to be a BIOS installation?
In the BIOS I have already set the boot priority of "UEFI" to "LEGACY FIRST". Unfortunately without success.
Is it perhaps because of the boot USB stick?
Would be glad about your advice
The best thing to do is to backup your data to an external hard drive and then erase the disk completely to install Windows.
Secure Boot is disabled?
Only the priority change will not help.
Thanks for the tip. Unfortunately, I can't find anything about Secure Boot in the BIOS.
I do not know what BIOS you have so I can't tell you exactly.
Maybe that will help you further because it is described quite well.
