I would like to use the second slot of my laptop and equip it with a little more memory. Can someone tell me how much RAM I can upgrade? Currently I have 4gb would like to use 8gb or if possible 16gb so either a 4gb or two 8gb RAM buy.

That depends on the laptop or its mainboard. The CPU model alone will not be enough to make a reliable statement. The question is, if more RAM is really needed. I doubt that you can help such an outdated processor even with additional memory.
So: what does it want to do with it?
I think more than 8Gb gets difficult with such an old processor.
Watch out for DDR3 1333 RAM.

If you feel slow while using the laptop, open the Task Manager and look at the memory usage. Is this brimming, it is worth it. Otherwise, an SSD is enough.
