I have the problem with my laptop that I plug in the headset but don't transmit anything. Say my headset does not record the sound on the microphone itself but records the sound where you plug the headset. That's why I took a part where you can connect the two plugs (in and output of the headset) and plug it in as a USB stick. However, I ALWAYS hear myself whispering in the background. Not just on TeamSpeak or Discord. Who knows why?
Simply place audio input and audio output on the headset - both in Windows and in the respective software.
Otherwise, he uses the built-in microphone from the laptop.
This is probably a monitor function (by monitor I do not mean the screen). This can be switched off, either in Windows or on the external sound card itself. For me, I can even adjust the volume with which I hear myself in two stages. My external sound card is from Sennheiser.
I was looking for a little now but really didn't find anything… Where do you set that? Where do I have to look for it?
Recording devices → your microphone → properties → monitoring
There, remove the check mark at "Use device as playback device". At least that's the Windows configuration. I do not know if you have installed additional software on your PC from the manufacturer of the USB sound card.
It is easier for me, a press on the touchscreen of my external sound card (Sennheiser GSX 1200 Pro).
