I had decided to install Sims 3 again 2 days ago, but maybe I was in the game for a minute and was overrun by bugs and lags. I play on a Toshiba Qosmio laptop Windows 10 with two graphics cards, one Intel HD Graphics 4600 and AMD Radeon R7 M380. The screen flickered, but I somehow fixed it. But it still depends on the gameplay. I play in the Sims 3 1.67 version and have a few DLCs. I've searched half the internet and nothing helps. I installed the Nraas Mods, I installed the 4GB patch, I play directly from the TS3W file, I tried it in compatibility mode Windows 8 I have no CCs, I got it in a new world without all DLCS without CC and mods tried the bad settings, but even then it jerked slightly (but better), I tried an FPS limiter and the Vsync mode in the AMD settings. I know there are thousands of posts about Lags in Sims 3, but I'm really at a loss.
If it is helpful I will not suffer my dxdiag file
Sims3 is a game with a lot of bugs, it always hung with me back then. I can't tell you exactly what you could do, I don't know enough about technology.
Otherwise I can highly recommend The Sims4, it is a lot better than the 3. And it doesn't hang at all, although my laptop is not the best.
Yes, I also play Sims 4 and it works fine. I just wanted to play Sims 3 again because Sims 4 quickly gets boring. I think Sims 3 is one of the best in the Sims range and I don't think my laptop is the best, but rather average, but thanks for your answer.
OK, oh well! In fact, I find Sims3 to be one of the worse, especially because it was always that way and was full of bugs. Hope you can still solve your problem, have fun texting haha.
Since the game really doesn't have high system requirements, you would normally get it to work with both the integrated graphics chip and the dedicated graphics card. Have you ever tried to change the graphics unit? Maybe one will do better than the other.
You can read about how this works here: https://praxistipps.chip.de/...ehts_38052
At AMD you can choose between "High Performance" and "Power Saving". The first would have to be the dedicated graphics card and the latter the integrated graphics chip. I can't say for sure since I've never had an AMD graphics card. Just change that and see if the game runs better.
So I've now switched to power saving what Intel should be, and it still hangs for no reason. I just don't understand this game.
