Last night I installed the vm from oracel. Now I've pulled the iso for win7 32bit directly from Windows and wanted to run it on the vw as a test exercise. After starting the installation, a blackscreen appears. Since the laptop is not good (thinkpad 1,9GHZ, 8gb RAM, ssd) I let it run overnight. In the morning it was the same and I canceled the installation.
does one know how to fix the problem?
Several isos have already been tested
Maybe a wrong configuration of the virtual host?
I would not want to virtualize anything with the weak hardware anyway, that's hardly enough for one system.
If the laptop is not good enough, it may lack the features it needs, such as: Hyper-V (virtualization function)
Could also be simply disabled in the BIOS. Look there for options for virtualization.
Did you assign enough RAM and CPU cores to the VM as well?
Here, the VM would have to issue an appropriate error message. It does not hurt to check it anyway.
So I'm very satisfied with VMWare…
Have hyper-v in the bios and in the settings turned on. Assigned 4gb ram and used a kernel (since I have only two)
