If I'm dissatisfied, can I still replace the hard drive after the conversion?

I went to an electronics store to have my old hard drive replaced on my laptop. The employee then said that this is not a problem and told me after looking at my laptop with data that 500GB would be enough for me. Then I told him that I would rather have 1TB again because before I brought my laptop in, I had already deleted several hundred GB of data and loaded it onto an external hard drive. He insisted that 500GB was more than enough and I finally gave in.
Now the 500GB are not enough in the back and front, but the employee says that if I bring him in again I have to pay everything again in full. Editing, the new hard drive and the "old" one that they built in for me a week ago will of course not be taken back.

The question now is, can I do something so that I don't have to pay for everything completely new or that you at least take back the other hard drive so that the costs are not that high?

What do we learn from it? You know best how much data you need and preferably you don't let yourself be talked out of your opinion so quickly.

Ultimately, the employee misjudged your usage behavior, you agreed and now you want a larger hard drive.

In any case, I don't know that you can step back from here. They clearly ripped you off, but you let it do it to you…

Ca

Unfortunately, the obligation to take back does not apply as it does for online orders (2 weeks).

Therefore, the only chance for a voluntary withdrawal is the dealer.

Strange that the seller didn't accept your opinion and changed your mind to another product. Usually they like to sell you everything. The main thing is that it is expensive and does not matter whether it goes well.

In an emergency, I would contact the branch manager.

You can tell yourself, don't you?
So you can sell not just one but 2 hard drives.
They sold more and it's even more expensive.

Sw

Well, I was a customer for a long time, but next time I'll get a hard drive somewhere else and have it installed…

Pl

Was a 500 GB hard drive sold to you for the price of a 1 TB hard drive?

If not, it makes no sense from a commercial point of view that people insist on installing only one 500 GB, even though you as a customer want 1 TB.

After all, you make more sales with a larger model.

Be that as it may… When buying in stores, there's no right of return due to "disapproval".

One can only hope for goodwill from the dealer. If this is not a good guy, you have unfortunately had bad luck.

Next time you just do it yourself with the hard drive of your choice. Because swapping the hard drive is not rocket science, even with a laptop.

Un

But if they build in enough memory in advance, the customers may not come back so quickly. I wouldn't visit the store again

Ra

Maybe they had the 500GB hard drive right there and wanted to get rid of it.

Mi

Do you have any witnesses for the conversation?

Sw

No, due to corona regulations, only one customer is allowed into the shop at a time. Maybe this is the case with those on the cameras, but of course they won't burden themselves either.

Mi

You also have a 3.0 USB on your laptop? At this connection, the hard disk is as fast as it is installed… Just leave it on and generally use it as a storage location…

There's nothing you can do about the shop… Find someone else, of course…

Ca

That's right 😅 But as a customer I wouldn't pay for it again. And they would have even lost a customer for it.

Ca

Which laptop do you have So which manufacturer and which model? If you happen to be near Frankfurt, I'll just install it for you 😂 Then you only pay for the hard drive

Sw

I already had the assumption. Maybe an open package that had to go

Sw

😂😂😂
