Microphone on the PC suddenly stops working?

I was just able to talk about Discord normally and wanted to play a new game. I was in the game for a few minutes when my microphone stopped working.

Checked out the "standard stuff" already. So something like whether the plug is properly seated, loose contact, whether the micro is possibly broken (is it not) or whether the settings on the PC have changed because of the game. But everything is still set as before and I haven't been in the game for a while.

I'm getting baffled because my microphone works quite normally on a laptop and not on the PC, although the settings are as usual. I hope you can give me tips or tell me what else I could do.
