Save pictures from an ancient laptop?

I would like to somehow transfer pictures from an approximately 13 year old laptop to my mobile phone or my current PC. Unfortunately there's such an old system on it that I can neither use the Internet properly nor do a USB stick work. Anyone have any idea what else I can do?

Try installing a new operating system. It is generally possible to improve the hardware with software. Not in the physical sense, however.

Which system is on it that does not recognize USB sticks 13 years ago because we're roughly with Windows Vista Windows 7 or in the worst case Windows XP

All of the mentioned operating systems recognize USB sticks just like Windows 10 today, but it could be that newer USB sticks no longer support the operating system if you still have an old USB stick but a USB stick should definitely be recognized

Have you tried sending it via bluetooth? The laptop should actually have Bluetooth if it is from 2008

Remove the HDD from the notebook and install it in the PC.
