WLAN router to connect to existing LAN network?

I have a lan connection in my apartment where I have direct internet access without any credentials. Now I would like to connect there but a wireless router. My landlady said this was not a problem.

I already had a wireless router after a long trial on the run, but now I have chosen all settings cleared and can't really continue.

Since I myself have little idea, it would be great if someone could help me.

I have a Fritzbox 7240 and had the LAN cable connected to the WAN port.

However, I do not remember what settings I have to specify in the menu of Fritzbox. It must somehow only the IP address be determined if the LAN cable is directly connected to the laptop and this must then be specified in the menu of the Fritzbox or the like.

If I connect my laptop directly to the LAN cable, I do not have to log in anywhere but have an existing connection directly.

Maybe that helps here: https://avm.de/...inrichten/

Just set up "existing Internet connection via LAN" (or something like that) when setting up. This is (I think) not in the Einrichtungsassistenten - if it is there, you have to cancel and then the setting under the item Internet → access data (or similar) enter.

But you have to connect the LAN cable from LAN1 and not to WAN.

I'll test right now.

Look why that's so because such a LAN connection in the wall with direct Internet connection is strange… If you connect a router make sure that you turn off DHCP on the router that you do not accidentally aufbeschsehen any network fires
