Can our teacher force us to use USB sticks?

In German we often have to bring things on USB sticks with us, but the problem is the PCs at our school are so junk and they also like to crash and my laptop at home is junk too.

I don't want to catch a virus on my stick because of that and have always emailed the whole thing to myself, but the teacher still demands USB sticks.

You can do it that way or how do you see it?

What kind of virus?

Describe your concerns to her and, if she has no idea about technology, you can explain it to her in more detail. Of course, email is a good solution.

What is the difference if you send it by e-mail or transfer it by USB stick? As long as you don't boot from the stick or have activated autostart, the risk should be similar.

As far as I know, the teacher shouldn't force you to do it. The teacher can ask you to bring a stick, because it is easier for you as a teacher to use a USB stick, but nowadays there's IServ and the school computers are connected in some way, so it shouldn't be a problem Send her files created at school. Whether you give it to her on a USB stick or write it to her in an email (I assume each of you has school email addresses). Providing a reason to catch a virus will probably be of no use, but if you explain to her that you will find it easier in an email etc. She can't forbid you to do so at the end of the day it doesn't matter how she gets the files, the main thing is that she has it themselves

Then it doesn't matter!

If there's no internet you just lost your email. The USB stick is more secure in failure than the Internet

And the costs are nothing.
