How much money can i spend alone in the media market? I mean, I'm 15, I have a job as a newspaper deliverer and want to get me a laptop for 450 euro.
The legal situation in brief:
Only those who are of legal age, i.e. 18 years old, have unlimited legal capacity.
Children from the age of seven and young people can only buy something without the consent of their parents as part of the free use of pocket money ("pocket money paragraph").
However, this is only possible without the consent of the parents if the goods can be paid for immediately with pocket money.
My advice:
The simplest solution is if you call the customer service of your Media Markt and find out more.
In this way you can find out, for example, whether you need a copy of your ID in addition to your parents' consent, or whether Media Markt does not sell to a 15-year-old.
It is legally regulated that parents can object to purchase contracts that their underage children have concluded.
That means that Media Markt would have to take back the device. If this has already been unpacked, it can no longer be sold as new.
With this in mind, you may save yourself a disappointment if you do some research beforehand. Of course, your parents can do that too.
Or you go to the Media Markt and inquire on site and then come back again.
You can go and if they sell you the laptop, the contract is pending ineffective, i.e. Your parents could object and the whole thing would have to be reversed.
It is therefore possible that those in MediaMarkt will not sell you the laptop without your parents being present, because they still want to take the risk that your parents will contradict you.
You could try taking your parents' written consent and a copy of your ID with you, but they don't have to accept that because they can't really verify it's authenticity.
