Hard drive is not recognized by the TV?

Hi

I bought a new TV some time ago and only now have I got myself a hard drive to be able to record films with it. Here are the dates:

TV: Philips, model no.: 43PUS6703 / 12

Hard drive: Seagate, 1TB

Now to my problem: I first connected the hard drive to the TV. She was not recognized there. Then I connected it to the laptop, where it was recognized and I had to register it. I tried it again on the TV afterwards, because I thought the error was now fixed, but nothing. It is still not recognized. Then I tried to find out something in the manual, but I didn't find anything. Nor did I find out about it on the Internet. The hard drive has an LED indicator that also lights up as soon as I connect it to the TV and it also makes noise, so I assume the problem is with the TV (or me).

It gets electricity, (LED display), it also works (noises)

You may find something in the TV menu where you can enable access or connection to the hard drive. It's like connecting a PC to the TV.

Gr

Is the hard drive formatted with NTFS or FAT32?
Maybe the TV can only handle FAT32?

Ze

I can select the USB input on the TV, but I get the message "No devices were found". I can't find anything else in the menu. I've already gone through everything in the settings.

Ze

I don't know… Do I see that on the PC?

Gr

Yes.

Ze

OK. I just watched. There's exFAT in the file system. The other option I can choose is NTFS (default).

Gr

That's right, it's too big to format directly into FAT32 with Windows.

To record a TV program, you need the following: • a connected USB hard drive that has been formatted on this TV • digital TV channels on this TV

Ze

Now I have formatted them with NTFS. Now she has been recognized!

Ze

Seems to work… I was able to format the hard drive on the TV.

ba

Formatting, I could have figured it out.

Ze

Thanks anyway.
