I copied the contents of a burned DVD onto my laptop. These are my old videos from 1992. After copying, there are only VOB, BUP, IFO files and an empty Audio TS folder. How can I play this on VLC?
Vob and ifo yes, I have never tested Bup.
Is there a VIDEO_TS folder in there?
If so, then right click on it and play it.
Otherwise do the same on the folder in which the above files are located.
Otherwise try to open the VOB file with VLC.
The VOB (Vobis, if I'm not mistaken) is the actual video file. The other files are configuration files and stuff like that. They are there, for example, to provide the DVD with chapters and menus. I don't think you can just play the whole thing because VLC doesn't know what belongs to this DVD, because the part in which this information is only on the DVD.
I would create an .iso from each of the DVDs and then save them that way. You can load these into a virtual drive and then play them back.
