Good evening I found a good laptop:
https://www.ebay.de/...ucher20183
But he has only 8 Gb Ram I would have to get to 16 so to retrofit.
Now, the thing is that I've been to various electronics markets and told me that retrofitting laptops is difficult because a lot is soldered.
Can I still retrofit my question or should I refrain from buying?
And what 8 Gb Ram bars should I buy so that fits too.
8GB SO-DIMM DDR4-2666 or better. Provided the information in the network are correct… Otherwise 2 of them ^^
OK thanks!
Then they will not go here?

Link is not working. Please show the part directly and not your shopping cart.
Ah Sorry.
This is normal Ram, this design fits in PCs but not in notebooks. For notebooks you need SO-DIMM
If there's not SO-DIMM here…
This is the category: https://www.idealo.de/...98032.html
OK thanks.
You can upgrade the laptop as follows:
There's 1x 8 GB RAM
There's a 2nd RAM slot, because you can plug in another 8 GB module.
The following RAM modules are possible:
8 GB, 2666 MHz, 1.2 v, DDR4
HP part number. 937236-850
Further information in the data sheet:

and in the maintenance manual, there's only in English, see page 44:

Ok thanks and how is the laptop in itself?
By the way: The retrofitting of the RAM is very easy here: You just have to unscrew the back (I think only 4 screws).
The HP is good data, a GTX 1050 TI on board, so can play well - all in all, a powerful device, the price is fine. I would also take the offered additional guarantee.
BUT: The computer comes without operating system, so you have Windows 10 Pro (better than the Home version!) Install yourself, it costs you a so-called OEM product key, you get serious and legal, for example. Here:
https://www.softwarebilliger.de/betriebssysteme/windows-10-pro-download/
Windows 10 itself is provided by Microsoft for free:
https://www.microsoft.com/.../windows10
If you do not know how to do that, I can write you more about it, just answer here.
I know how it works.
I still have a Windows 7 CD here I already use the license on my PC of which I'm writing but should not matter if I use it for the laptop.
No, Windows 7 is no longer supported by the latest hardware on the HP, there are no drivers from HP for Windows 7 - it would also be illegal to use the Windows 7 Product Key on 2 computers. You have to take Windows 10 already…
Ok and what about Linux?
Is there anything supported?
I can't say exactly. For Linux, it depends on the particular distribution, whether it works with the HP hardware or not. I assume that a notebook with its specific functions (more than a normal desktop PC) is probably not optimal under a LInux distribution bwz. Not running. At least there's no support from HP. The notebook is made for Windows 10.
OK thanks.
