I want to buy an ipad pro. Is this a good replacement for a laptop? Would you recommend it to me?

Advantages and disadvantages?

Re

Absolutely not - on a notebook with Windows / Linux, you have a lot more * freedom and it is much more powerful.

* Freedoms in terms of more apps and games

Have a good time.

Yes, the iPad Pro is a good replacement!
I've been working iPad only for a few years now and have sold my iMac for it. Before that, I had other Samsung tablets from desktops to the Surface.

With a PC / Mac you have the advantages of using specific software (which is not available as an app) and performing certain activities natively without detours (e.g. Coding, complex CAD programs, professional (commercial) video editing, etc.). If any of these fall into your area, you should think twice about purchasing it. And gaming is only possible with an iPad as part of the AppStore Games.

So I'm well aware of what you can do with a PC.

So why the iPad after all?

Mobility: The iPad is more flexible than any laptop, no matter how good, and still has performance! It's small and compact, and even the 12.9 "version is lighter than most laptops.

Performance: I cut films with the iPad Pro 4 and render them more efficiently than with an i7-based MacBook Pro. I can develop my photos perfectly with Adobe Lightroom without the iPad getting hot or anything like that.

Office advantage: You no longer need an MS Office subscription! With Pages, Numbers and Keynote you have three powerful Office programs preinstalled for Free. It is easy to export files as PDF or WIN formats. So you have no losses in terms of office!

Apple Pencil: The Pencil is one of the greatest criteria for the iPad, because handwriting makes a lot of activities much easier and thus more efficient workflows can be designed.

App variety: You have all the advantages of the AppStore and can choose from a large number of apps that are designed for professional work with the iPad, which is the best / most useful for you.

iPadOS: Since Apple donated an adapted iOS to the iPad, the iPad is even more of a "computer" than it already was.

Style: I'm honest, it's not only powerful, it's also simply stylish and a luxury item! Of course you get more performance for the money if you assemble something yourself or in the finished laptop! But do I want that? Walking around with a plastic bomber like that? No! I can afford it, so what the heck! No matter what the others think! Should they just get their Lenovo, Dell, HP show 🤗

Finally, it should be mentioned: Now that Apple has given their MacBooks their in-house "M" chips, a lot of professional software will come out in the next few months (Adobe products, Final Cut x, etc.) which will then be optimized so that they are native to an iPad to run. From this point on, the line between iPad and laptop (in the Mac area) becomes completely blurred, since almost everything that comes out for MacBooks can also run on an iPad.
