I have an AMD A12-9720p in my laptop why can the only 2,7GHZ when I googled there hour that he can clock up to 3.5GHZ?

Ro

For laptop processors that was really the maximum on a core / thread.

Safe?

This CPU has a base clock of 2.7GHz and only Turbo 3.6Ghz.

Is also the old architecture of the AMD FX CPU's, so not very powerful.

Yes, basically, yes. In addition to 2 modules with two integer cores (ie 4 threads), this mobile APU also has to supply 8 graphics CUs with a total of 512 shader units with a very tight thermal budget of between 12 and 15 watts.

If the graphics unit and all 4 threads are loaded simultaneously, this APU has no thermal and electrical power reserves for the Turbo Core application.

For comparison:

The AMD A12 - 9800E for desktops corresponds technically exactly to your A12 - 9720p. For 3.10 Ghz base clock and max. Turbocore is already allowed to use this APU on a thermal budget of 35 watts.

The A12 - 9800 with 3.80 Ghz base clock (maximum turbo up to 4.2 Ghz) may already have a thermal budget of 65 watts.

Do you see where the journey is going? For a guaranteed 1.1 Ghz more base clock AMD already estimates a thermal budget more than 4 times as high as your APU. (and all three APUs are technically identical)

Even the A12 - 9800 will not reach its maximum turbo if all four threads and the integrated graphics unit are loaded simultaneously. In addition, the power supply of the graphics unit in these APUs has priority over the CPU cores.
