What kind of apps should you have for your laptop?
I recommend the Windows 365 stuff. Otherwise you probably don't really need anything.
You only need a few apps. LibreOffice is the best choice for working. At least equivalent to Microsoft products, but also free and much more versatile. In LibreOffice, PowerPoint, Word, Excel and many more have been combined. Free!
Otherwise maybe Firefox, if not already installed, and Adobe Acrobat Reder DC (i.e. For PDF).
Basically just a browser and possibly an Office package if you want something installed instead of a cloud solution. You don't really need more, everything is now running in browsers.
Should? An operating system.
Everything else depends on what you plan to do with the laptop.
