The laptop is borrowed from my school and is also connected to the internet in case that should be useful information.

You are not in the school's network neighborhood. Wi-Fi network. Therefore the registered ones do not fit. You may create another user on request.

This computer is connected to a domain. This means that it is connected to a server and when you try to log in, the computer looks for "its" server in order to synchronize the login data.

If this PC is to work outside of a domain because you use the device at home instead of in the company, then it must be removed from the domain and integrated into the home network.

Everything else will be explained to you by the friendly IT person who originally anchored the device in this domain.
