I would have a question and I have the following problem my drive on the laptop has given up the ghost it no longer even recognizes the windows 7 at least after a few percent an error message file damaged. I tried it with other CDs the same result my laptop is theoretically flat empty so my question can I connect an external drive and do the installation? Would the laptop even be able to recognize and read it in this way?
Use a bootable USB stick
Download the image file from Microsoft
google tells you how to put the data on the stick and off you go… Unfortunately, rotating data carriers and their readers are still available, although there are nicer alternatives.
The prerequisite for this is that the boot sequence in the Biso is set to USB, otherwise it will not work.
As soon as you have switched to the Biso, you can use a USB CD / DVD / Blue Ray to start from the installation disk.
When installing via USB stick, the USB stick is made bootable, there the ISO file is saved with the operating system.
