Falling down your laptop - processor still hums, monitor black?

The laptop fell to the floor from a height of about 30 cm, and the picture has remained black ever since. The processor is still buzzing and the standby light is still on. I assume that hopefully only the graphics card was shaken, but I'm only guessing.

I bought it three years ago at a Media Markt store somewhere else, should I go to the same branch for a repair service or can it be any electrical retailer? What are the costs of such an "intervention"? Otherwise you would have to consider buying a new one, even if it cost 700 euro at the time. What would you do?

Bought 3 years ago - the value is now at zero! Get a new one and remove the hard drive, which you can then use as an external one.

Va

Which model is it about?

Usually it is not worth taking it to the repair service. Often much too expensive. As a layman, you might want to get a new device.

If you are pc savvy you can repair it yourself.

Fell down while in operation?

La

It's 3 years old so worth 0 and scrap Buy a new one, but remove the hard drive! (Not the processor, but the fan!)

Me

Yes in energy saving mode

Me

An Acer Aspire E15, I'm not so PC savvy, no.

Va

There are - as with every other laptop - a thousand models with different hardware.

But it tends not to be worth it. You can get a lot better laptops these days.

Wa

Ok, but the device must be opened and all plug connections checked. But something can also break off somewhere that can hardly be found. You can try to connect an external screen. But is rather low that it works.

Me

Ok then rather buy a new one.

Very good tip thanks!

Vo

Mediamarkt does the same with other media branches. The main thing is that the LCD is not cracked? Otherwise a contact on an inserted circuit board could have slipped.
