I've been using my laptop again after six years. The laptop had battery problems with the same power supply before. Today I switched it on with the same power supply unit and found that the battery of my laptop always shows "0% (mains operation is not charging)". When I pull out the power supply, the laptop switches off immediately and when I switched off the laptop and left the power supply for about 45 minutes, nothing has changed. I then switched the power supply back from 19.5 volts to 15 volts and then nothing worked. When I put it back on, it came back on.
The battery is over. Not surprising after the period of total discharge. Especially if it was already broken before.
Would the problem be resolved if I exchanged this?
I guess.
Six years of "deprivation of love" are the death of every battery. Power supply defects are far less common. I would change the battery. Of course, there's still a certain risk.
