Are students allowed to use tablets and laptops?

I currently plan to study in the future. As far as I know, you can use a tablet or laptop when you are studying. However, I'm not sure what that is about and would like to hear your statements. So: can you use a tablet or laptop while studying? And if so, which of the two would you prefer?

Yes you can, you can already do that in high school. I personally prefer a tablet with an active stylus because you can write on it by hand

Depending on the module it can be restricted, in general there's nothing against it
