I have a Thinkpad T410 that does not recognize USB sticks such as a Kali Live Stick. However, a Windows installation USB stick created by the MediaCreationTool is also not recognized. It is not the order of the boats. I suspect that the bios is just too old. What can I do so that the sticks are recognized?
Check whether 64-bit or 32-bit or whether it is bios or efi / UEFI.
Then download the correct version and try it with (balena) etcher, i.e. At kali.
For Windows just try rufus.
The USB stick should be formatted beforehand with Fat32.
Suppose I can't start an operating system… How do I install it? I mean. I can't boot from the USB stick?
There are still few installers, e.g. B. Phoenix os windows installer, which simply change the uefi boot options from Windows so that at least Android can be booted. But in general you should also be able to manually select the partition of the USB stick if it is selected. Of course it can also be that secure boot USB is deactivated, which could then be changed in the boot settings (i.e. Press F4 or something similar when booting).
