I'm quite worried that my laptop has been starting to start up a strange tick-tick-tick. What's this? What does this mean? Can I do something or prevent damage?

Thank you for the answers. I uninstalled the flash player and strangely enough the ticking is gone. But I still want to check the hard drive. If no report from me follows soon, then it was probably really defective…
