Hi, I want to record something from a certain program with Audacity but it only takes the audio track from the laptop mic, but I want to record the audio track from the program how does it work?
To do this, you first have to activate Stereomix on Windows 10. This is how it works:
Then select Stereomix at Audacity for the sound source.
Now start the program you want to record. Then immediately click on Record at Audacity. Click Stop when done. Now go to File> Export at Audacity and select the desired format (e.g. MP3). If you can't select MP3, you have to install the LAME MP3 encoder. It works like this:
Quit Audacity first.
Download LAME MP3 Encoder: http://www.rarewares.org/files/mp3/lame3.100-64-20200409.zip
Then unzip the ZIP and copy the lame.exe and lame_enc.dll into the folder c: \ windows.
Start Audacity. Now you have the possibility to export your recordings as MP3.
