Question about exchange of used electronics?

I bought a used laptop 10 days ago in a technical shop (buy / sell v. Computer etc.). Wanted to return the laptop, because the battery did not work. The seller refused to give me back my money because it was a secondhand thing. The receipt was "exchange within 2 weeks". I had to conclude a sales contract with him. He also copied my ID. I had to do that because otherwise he would not have given me the money.

Can you help me, is that legal what he did?

Especially with used hardware such as a notebook is often referred to the battery has no guarantee or no return or complaint allows.

If this was not the case with your purchase, I would assume that the dealer's lack of interest in the product does not make the return possible.

If the device works on the AC adapter and you are satisfied with the part itself, then check it online for a replacement battery and avoid this seller in the future.

in how far that can be legal or not you have to clarify in doubt with a lawyer, we can only tell you our opinion.
