I currently have a very old BIOS on my notebook. Can you update it somehow, or swap it? Or is it permanently installed on the MB?
You should tell us which notebook you have
And it is not so normal that there are newer BIOS versions in notebooks
And a BIOS is implanted on a chip, which in turn is soldered to the mainboard, so it can't be exchanged as you might imagine
Of course you can update it. The BIOS is also called "flashing". For this purpose, the manufacturer offers a small piece of software that does this and gives the BIOS chip a new version of the software. The instructions must be followed meticulously, otherwise nothing will work.

However, there's no guarantee that this is really exactly for your notebook. It is best to use the automatic driver update, maybe the BIOS will also check it
If your laptop / PC manufacturer offers a UEFI / BIOS update, it will do.
But what do you promise yourself from it?
