Recently the screen of my laptop (Acer Predator) cracked from the inside. Classic consequence: leakage of the liquid, appearance of innumerable "rainbow lines". Screen unusable. So I got an extra monitor + keyboard, everything works perfectly.
Now, however, I don't want to have to keep opening and closing the laptop to be able to start it up (unfortunately the start button is located directly above the keyboard and not on the edge of the device) and I don't like the wonderful view of the destroyed screen. So I had the idea of simply sawing off the lid of the laptop that has now become redundant. The joints should only run cables for the webcam, microphone and screen, right? However, I'm not particularly sure and do not intend to risk the rest of the laptop after having been lucky again before.
Can anyone help me? What possible damage could my project cause and (how) can this be prevented? I'm grateful for any reply.
Short circuit and defective mainboard, graka…
So don't say, just unscrew the display and hinges if you want to continue using the thing
There are no visible screws… Just remove the cover?
If you look at the bottom, there's the model and if you google for disassemble + model you will find enough instructions
Somehow, the screen should also be removable. And antenna for WLAN could also be in the top of the display case. The cables are often plugged in. You might get one when you remove the keyboard. Varies by manufacturer, but see if you can find a video on how to disassemble it
