Disadvantages of deactivating the graphics chip?

My laptop (Acer Nitro 5) does not use the graphics card as desired for games with a launcher, but rather the graphics chip. I've already tried a few things and he still always uses the graphics chip. Now I wanted to ask you what disadvantages it would have if I simply deactivated the chip and let everything run through my graphics card?

I suspect the power consumption will be higher but are there any other disadvantages?

Apart from higher power consumption, there aren't really any disadvantages to speak of.
