The screen of my laptop unfortunately shows no content or are only stripes still visible. When connected to HDMI, however, I can see everything on the TV, but only after logging in. My dad did not set a password at that time, which is why the laptop starts up like this.
Now I wonder how I can reset it after the registration has already taken place. On YouTube, Google, etc. I just found explanations for the reset before logging in… Unfortunately, I can't implement these tips, since I finally only content after the start are displayed…
Does anyone know how I can reset it anyway?
Before we go astray: what do you want to achieve with the reset?
If there's a flawless image on external monitor, but the built-in display shows only stripes, this is a hardware defect. In the best case, only a ribbon connector loose, but usually the panel scrap. A repair is only worthwhile if you do it yourself and you have enough time (and a bit of screwdriver talent).
For repairs, recovery, boot options, etc. Unfortunately you need a display that shows content already at boot. Many notebooks do not support that.
