A few weeks ago I installed Windows 10 on my laptop (Asus, about 6 years old). But now there are two problems for which I simply can't find a solution on the Internet.
1) USB devices are no longer recognized… For example, I have a portable hard drive that is connected via USB. This then also lights up and thus signals that it is receiving energy, but is not recognized by the laptop. The same applies if I connect my smartphone via a USB charging cable; it is loaded but can't be found anywhere (not even in Device Manager).
2) In sleep mode all applications are closed and after logging in again on the laptop the laptop mostly crashes… As soon as I don't use the laptop for more than 20 minutes, it goes into sleep mode (as far as normal), but the new thing is that everyone Applications are closed and I lose files. But what is much more annoying is that the laptop usually crashes after it is "brought back" from sleep mode (Windows does not work - end process).
I hope you can help me and I look forward to your answer.
Either the mainboard is too old for the sticks or it needs updates
Install the latest chipset drivers. You can find your laptop on the homepage.
Before I installed the update, exactly the same USB devices were recognized without any problems…
I also wanted to recommend it
One should always do anyway, whereby reference from the respective manufacturer is better because new ones would be recommended
Best of all everything else drivers use: graphics card, etc
I will try that, thank you very much!
Ever tried to reinstall your drivers? The subject of sleep mode is quite normal, because this is only for the faster boat, ergo it is there faster. In this state, whether sleep mode or standby, all USBs are deactivated.
It is not uncommon for laptops to use hardware components for which Windows does not have standard drivers or that the standard drivers have not implemented all functions.
At Asus you should be able to download the appropriate drivers from their homepage.
If it wasn't because of that, then you have to do more.
