What are the advantages of a Windows laptop over an iPad?
A windows laptop is a computer. Not an iPad. An iPad is almost just a large cell phone.
Depending on the area of application, this can be sufficient or even better, but you can better compare the Windows laptop with a Macbook

The cheapest iPad since 2019 has 2160 x 1620 so more than full hd but less than your laptop.
Nevertheless, the screen of the iPad is stronger and brighter than a cell phone screen, but larger. So perfect for watching movies / reading and surfing comfortably in bed and on the couch
USB also works for iPad, with a hub for example. Also supports hard drives, USB sticks, etc.
Access to much more software is reason enough for me to stay with window

This statement is simply wrong, as the identical components are built into notebooks as well as tablets and smartphones. They only differ in terms of their properties, options and purposes.

An iPad comes close to a PC because an iPad (tablet) is itself a PC. It differs in format, operation and possible uses. Even a smartphone is a small, pocket-sized PC.
Laptops are rarely used outside in the blazing sun and in closed rooms you rarely need more brightness, a tablet is more intended for mobile use, therefore brighter displays.
Basically, the larger screen and the physical keyboard make the laptop more suitable for creating and editing content. The programs also offer more functionality and until a few years ago they also had more computing power. In addition, the laptops have more connection options and more local storage.
The iPad is more suitable for consuming content, for editing less (especially when entering text), but offers better mobility.
But the lines are becoming more and more blurred. In terms of computing power, the iPads have come close to the average laptops, you can connect an external keyboard and Bluetooth mouse to the iPads, and you can work well with the pen on the iPad. The apps offer more and more functionality, now I prefer to do simple photo and video editing on the iPad. Physical connections are also becoming less and less important with the cloud options, and laptops are also increasingly using USB-C.
Nevertheless, I would still prefer a laptop for daily work and for study.
Sometimes specific programs are needed that only run on Windows machines.
