Laptop does not go up high, does anyone know why?

My laptop goes up but hangs somewhere with a gray picture.

I have Windows 8 and this happens to me for the first time, does anyone have any idea how I could fix the problem.

Did you try to start in safe mode?

How do you do that?

You have to press the F8 key when booting up the computer. There you will find "Safe Mode".

My dvd can't play / read anymore. Does anyone of you know an approach? We Weed48
