How can I connect my headset to my laptop?

I bought a new headset and I can't get the microphone to work.

My laptop is running Windows 10 and I can't find the headset in my recording devices. There's only a microphone array and a stereo mix…

My headset has an AUX output with which I went into the aux input of my laptop and a USB output for the LEDs.

I also have an adapter that is divided into microphone and speaker, but in my opinion I don't really need it.

Can someone please tell me what I'm doing wrong?

Is the jack cable from the microphone a 4-pin or a 3-pin? If it is a 3-pin that is only intended for the microphone, then you need the adapter. Then apparently micro runs over jack and the rest over USB.

What headset do you have?

Pe

Yes.

The AUX port is for a speaker, not for input. Take the USB dongle.

I have a beexcellentgm1

The headset cable has both the USB port, which is only for the LEDs, and the Aux port.

The adapter turns this Aux connector into 2 connectors.

Next to the entrance to my laptop is a headset sign.

Does your laptop have two jack sockets or one?

And if it is one, is that a multi jack, for microphone and headphones or just headphones?
