Sharing laptop in hobby and work, but best how?

I would like to combine hobby and work on my new laptop, the new Dell XPS 15.

I would have preferred if there had been two surfaces with separate storage locations, between which I could have simply switched back and forth. A kind of second user account to which I can swipe briefly like on a second desktop without having to log out of account 1 and log in to account 2. As far as I know, this is not possible.

There's probably only a classic second user account left, I think. I would be all the more pleased if someone could show me an alternative solution!

So my desired criterion would be:
1. Separate storage (that I don't have a desktop full of games etc. When working, for example - and no, everything related to my hobby is not a solution for me.)
2. Uncomfortable changing of the work surfaces. (A few programs provide an interface between hobby and work)

Who knows, maybe there's a way to solve it.
I would appreciate your help.

KDE offers several desktops that you can switch with a hotkey (under the same user account), just like most other Linux desktop environments. There are no separate storage locations for programs, but you could simply create a few folders and then link them to the corresponding desktop.

If you need programs more than once (e.g. Two times the same email client), this is also possible.

As far as I know, this is not so easy on Windows.

It is best to set up a virtual desktop under Win10. There are good tutorials on YouTube.

A very practical thing.

Do you mean a second desktop? As far as I know, they are temporary with win10 and not independent of the storage space.

If you mean something else it would be cool if you could link a video.

I'm using Windows 10, so it won't work.

I meant a virtual desktop - just google it, you will find instructions there. Unfortunately I can't link anything here.
