I have the following problem:
After a long search and installation, I finally found the right driver for the fingerprint sensor. I can now set up my fingerprint in the settings under Credentials. But when I get to the "login page" there's nowhere a way to log in with my fingerprint. I restarted the laptop after setting it up. (Windows 10) (Dell Latitude E6530)
"nowhere a possibility to log in with my fingerprint"
Is it possible that you are simply not asked to do so, or have you already tried to put your finger on the login page?
With my laptop it works even before I have even selected the account…
I also only have one account on my laptop.
Yes, I'm not asked to hang up my finger. I already put my finger on, but nothing happened. Everything looks the same as before
Did almost 30 minutes of research but found nothing about a fingerprint sensor on the laptop you mentioned.
what I found is a secure SD card, without which the system won't start.
Can you post a picture of it?
Unfortunately I don't know anything about such an SD card, there's the option of using a so-called smart card as a key.
Thank you very much for your effort!
Yes exactly
I also can't find a driver in this direction fingerprint.
The driver is called ControlVault. If you enter that into Dell you can download the firmware and the driver
But the hardware should be somewhere, but I haven't found it.
Should that be in / on the smart card?
I don't know if there's any extra hardware, I thought it would work with NFC. Is that wrong? Or is that an SD card?
I entered that on "Google" and got a lot of answers.
"Fingerprint sensor driver for Dell"
Maybe it has something to do with "Hello"?
Could it be that your virus scanner is preventing reading?
I only have Windows Defender on it. Could it be that that prevents it?
Think no
The driver wasn't on it before, I downloaded it myself and then saved it under: C: / Dell / Drivers, I think. Could it be that I haven't downloaded a file that is needed?

Guess the sensor is on the touchpad.
I've already done the whole procedure. For credentials there's something like: "You can now log in to Windows and Microsoft services with your fingerprint." But when the laptop is locked, there's nowhere a prompt to put your finger on.
