I have a question,
I'm 18 years old and currently attend a computer science HTL in Austria and also work as a programmer, which is why I bought a slightly more expensive laptop (€ 1700) in October. In addition to work and school, I also use it for private purposes. Now to my question:
Would it be possible to write it off from the tax?
Well, tools for a part-time job, if you are employed, so maybe as advertising costs, spread over three years. If you do this on a freelance basis, then as operating expenses, again there's the question of whether you have registered your activity etc.
If you only work marginally on the side… Do you get enough money to pay taxes per se?
Basically: Deducting something from the tax means that the tax liability is reduced.
But this is only possible if you pay taxes at all.
You can only deduct as things that you need to carry out the taxed work.
