PC editing software?

I've been doing edits on my phone for a while now. At the moment I use CuteCut pro and am very satisfied with it. But since I spend more time on my laptop I'm looking for a software (if possible for free) which can insert videos AND pictures. Important to me would be the transitions. No weird circular in-out transitions.

Is there maybe something there? ^^
