For the laptop, I would recommend LMMS https://lmms.io/. This is the most comprehensive free DAW (Digital Audio Workstation) for Windows, Mac and Linux. I always recommend the stable version.

LMMS supports the following standards:

ZynAddSubFX
SoundFont2
VST (i) plugins
LADSPA
CIS Patches (PatMan)
MIDI
FLP (Fruityloops Project) files

Here is the most extensive free MIDI sound font in SoundFont2 format that can also be used in LMMS: https://github.com/...3%20GM.sf2 After downloading this you have to copy it into the LMMS installation folder and then enter it in the settings.

I also recommend installing ASIO4ALL if you use Windows: http://www.asio4all.org/

There are numerous German tutorials for LMMS with examples on YouTube.
