Hey;
I wanted to ask briefly why I can't get a 1000Mbit transfer on the laptop via Lan.
Have recently a 1Gbit Vodafone line anyway I can't get more than 100 mbit download speed.
what could be the problem?
driver
Family Controller PCIe GBE
and by WLan as an example, I manage up to 400-550 MBits
Gbit is not the same as GB. You have to divide 1000Mbit by 8. Then you do not exactly come to 100mb, but there's always a bit of loss.
1000/8 = 100? Math 1 or?
Gigabit vs. Gigabyte?
Both entries are in bit and not in bytes.
Apparently the line to your laptop is not Gigabit capable, but only 100mbit. That it is exactly 100mbit, as you write, I suspect that a network switch, the router or your laptop are not Gigabit capable. Or you only use a 4-wire cable. But I really do not think so.
There are several possibilities. A common cause is that the remote station can't deliver the data faster. But it may also be that a part of the line path does not support higher speeds, such as an old 10/100 MBit / s network switch with you or the operator of your remote site. That can only be a matter of attitude. It may also be that there's an overload on some of the data path and the speed is limited. It may also be that your laptop does not support higher speeds, as it only has a 10 / 100MBit Fast Ethernet interface.
Your network adapter (LAN) or an intervening switch or the LAN port of the router are set to 100 Mbps.
For a FritzBox, e.g. The LAN ports are manually switched to Gigabit, by default they deliver only 100 Mbps in Eco mode.
Have in the configuration on full duplex 1GBIT set / means that my laptop is theoretically fast enough. So with the network card is possible to retrieve this speed?
It should be possible. But it may also be that the interface is set incorrectly on the router, or you use an unsuitable line, such as only one with 4 wires, or one that has kinks or other damage.
Thanks for the answer.
I have in the user surfaces from the fritxbox
the 2 lan ports on powermode (ie 1GBIT) and the numbers 2-3 on geeen mode (100 MBit)
Yes, if you have connected to the ports 2 and 3, a LAN cable, then you have only 100 MBit / s - so all ports on Gigabit switch.
Is there another way
So with another network card? It
is with my laptop
around the aspire v15 nitro
So I've all set to power to try this out
You have to try out the different options.
What is in the network and release to your connection (connection status) I assume that you have somewhere a bottle neck, and if the cable itself is. Is e.g. The 7th or 8th wire interrupted, then the cable can only 100 Mbit / s the same applies to this flat cable, since the veins are not twisted. But should not… Does not mean for no reason Twisted Pair Network
If you have a laptop on the network adapter speed of 1 GB / s, then everything is right. Everything else is then at your Internetamschluß.
I wrote. That one does not exactly come to 100. German 1 or?
That was up to much just Haha a bit I know me up
could you explain that more easily
So you have a loss of 25mb? Yes sure…
Do not take offense, but if that was too much, you do not know about it.
But my Verdaacht would be the interfaces, synonymous in the router / switch note, and the cable used. AutoNegotiation also means testing what the cable can transmit.
