I have now connected my 144hz monitor to my laptop via hdmi 1.0, but how can I display the 144hz and not the 60hz from my laptop on the external monitor?

Display settings - select monitor - advanced display settings - display adapter properties for screen 2 - monitor - change from 60 to 144hz - take over - done!

Most laptops have modest Grakas in them. If you have one that works, you can set it up in the driver or in the game setup.

HDMI only works up to max. 120Hz. Everything about this can currently only be implemented via Display Port.
