I have a laptop from 2011. It had Windows 7 and everything was great. I got 10, but only because support for 7 ends. Everything runs properly, but for 2.3 days he suddenly hangs himself once a day. I didn't have anything like that at 7. I then turn the laptop off at the push of a button, then it works again, but that's not a good solution.
I would see if you have a lot of unnecessary programs in the autostart that then run in the background but are not used at all. If you sorted that out a bit and it still doesn't work, I would reset the laptop and set up Windows again. Did you do all Windows updates consistently?
Is it not by chance that a bluescreen comes up with an error code?
Otherwise what can help: update all drivers
And if that doesn't work, you could check the ram (with memtest or a similar tool)
Okay… I only got Windows 10 a month ago and all updates were made there. Everyone is always done now. The thing is that I downloaded the free version from the Internet. But is legal. I can't go back to 7 anyway, it only lasts 10 days, but that wouldn't have brought me anything, I did it for security. Because after 14.1 the support for 7 ends. I'm just afraid that my laptop is too old for 10…: /
No no blue screen. How do I know what I need all the drivers for?
The best solution is probably to completely reinstall Windows 10.
So no strange corpses remain in the system.
But please do not forget to save your data beforehand.
And being a woman is no excuse. 😜😁
But that's always an effort. Besides, that only happened now, when I have had it for weeks 10.
Achso, it sounded like you had just switched to D10.
Yes it is more complex, but the installation itself usually only takes 15 minutes.
I think to rule out a hardware defect first, it is the best option… Software errors are always difficult to locate.
And 9 years are a bit older😂. It may be that the hardware starts spinning. But try to rule that out with a new installation.
So you can e.g. Simply go to the device manager (right-click on the windows symbol at the bottom left.), There are the individual components that you can right-click (presumably) to get the "update driver" option. At least that's the easiest option…
