I was stranded here because I ran into a problem with my MSI (GT72VR 6RE Dominator Pro) gaming laptop. The scenario is as follows.
"I was able to buy the nice device at a good price on eBay and the owner assured that everything works. Except for a small defect on the frame hinge, which I can fix myself, there was nothing wrong with the device.
I then bought the good piece and had it sent to me. Unfortunately, there was no Windows 10 on it, which was not a problem for me because I can play it on it myself. So said and done, installed Windows 10 on a USB stick, booted the computer from the USB stick and tried to install Windows 10. Of course via the SSD which is also still present in the PC. Installation worked without problems Windows 10 was installed and set up without any problems, everything worked flawlessly, the drivers can be installed really well.
And then the big shocking moment the HDD hard drive is not displayed. (1TB)
The SSD is logically already installed on Windows 10.
And now the strange thing, when I was still booting from the USB stick, the hard drive was displayed and I was able to install Windows 10 on it.
Only now after Windows has been installed it is simply no longer there. It is not listed anywhere. Not even in the * Disk Management *.
Unfortunately, I can't connect it to any other laptop / PC because I don't have one.
Had it also removed and checked whether everything was okay with the cable and the hard drive, and no special features there either.
Has someone ever had the same problem and maybe a solution. Or does someone know it better than me? Who could give me helpful tips?
I thank you in advance for every answer?
If it is still displayed in the BIOS, then I'd guess a driver problem. Check your hardware / device manager for unrecognized devices. An IDE controller may not be there.
Where can you see that in the BIOS?
This is a little difficult to explain now, but there are already a few articles about this on the Internet. See here for example:
