Can I get the same 144hz with HDMI 1.4?

I want to get a 144hz gaming monitor for gaming laptop and Ps4 / soon Ps5, but the monitor only has Hdmi 1.4 connections and a Displayport connection (my laptop only has an Hdmi type a connection, no Displayport). Now my 2 questions: Can you plug the Hdmi 1.4 cable into a Hdmi type a from the laptop and get 144hz on the monitor? Can I get 120hz on the Ps5 with the Hdmi 1.4? If you only know the first question, please also comment, thanks in advance.

For the Ps5 you need HDMI 2.0 to play in 120Hz @ FHD. For 120Hz @ UHD you need HDMI 2.1.

HDMI is only specified for 120Hz.

You won't get 120Hz with the PS5, however, you need HDMI 2.0 (with 1080p / 1440p) and HDMI 2.1 with 4K
