I'm sitting here on the computer of my parents and have seen that the computer has no secured Wi-Fi. The laptop goes via a 1&1 internet stick to the Internet, can someone please explain to me how to make the connection safe?
First, it must be clarified how the PC is connected to the Internet. Whether over WLAN or over mobile Internet. These are two totally different things. If there's no Wi-Fi via internet stick, which would have to be secured. There's nothing to do. Your question is so nonsensical.
Wi-Fi and internet stick are different possibilities.
Where, what security?
The laptop works with an internet stick. I have my own laptop with here and under networks there's the Wi-Fi of my father's laptop as unsecured Wi-Fi displayed, it is def. To this network, because I was on this network even on the Internet. So m.M.n. Quite a big security risk or not? But unfortunately I do not know how to close this gap, at home I have a router to secure the Wi-Fi was easy, but I do not get it, how to make the connection at a Internetsurfstick safe. Am unfortunately over-questioned.

When logging into the stick, you must also enter an access password, that is the security.
So you could use the stick without identification with your laptop into the net?
The owner of the stick has to enter a PIN, I did not need it, I came in under Network, Connect. Is not that quite uncertain? It would not work in my home because I have a password protected Wi-Fi, but with the sticks I do not know how it works, so I'm surprised.
Sounds like your dad has activated a Wi-Fi hotspot on his laptop.
There you have to assign a password in the settings. However, he can also switch off the hotspot as long as he only uses the Internet alone and nobody wants to connect to the WLAN.
