Notebook for multi-monitoring?

Dear Community,

my father bought an expensive new screen. His idea: operate 2 screens at the same time with his notebook. It also has a docking station for that, so it doesn't lack connections.

Now he has connected the great new screen (350 euro cost point) together with another middle-aged one to his notebook. Result: both screens are black. But they work individually on the laptop.

The hardware of his device probably can't do that. Now he wants to buy a notebook that can do it. After some time googling around, I still haven't gotten any smarter about the hardware such a notebook would need to do that (and then get a solid resolution). And whether something like this can even be found for up to 1000 euro.

A stand PC is out of the question for reasons of flexibility; he travels for work and needs the laptop. A USB graphics card also only seems to slow down the laptop.

Does anyone here have the know-how to be able to tell me what kind of hardware is required? What kind of graphics card and what kind of processor or something? Or do you need more / something else? I would be very attached to him / her!
