My printer (Brother-DCP195C) has stopped working?

My father's printer has not worked since yesterday, but only if he should print something from the laptop. It works perfectly on a normal PC. Before, there had never been any major problems with the printer and it always worked with the laptop (HP, Windows 10). I've already tried everything, but now I'm running out of ideas. Maybe you can help me out.

So I've already switched the printer and laptop on and off.

Checked color cartridges and paper.

The printer is set as a standard printer, as well as wide and online.

the printer driver is up to date

The queue is empty and nothing happens when I try to print a document d, h, it does not get into the queue (it just disappears, there's no error message either on the laptop or on the printer)

I've already run Windows' automatic troubleshooting, but it doesn't detect any errors.

Even the test print fails.

Would be really grateful if you have any suggestions.

and thank you in advance.

Then you just have to connect the laptop directly to the printer with a cable.

It already is and it also shows that it is ready and online.

Write how you connected it now, you can connect the printer directly to the router… (we somehow can't do that) so we always have to plug.

Have you tried restarting your laptop? - Ie: Select "Restart" in the switch-off menu.

Gu

Yes, I have restarted both the laptop and the printer 3 times

Gu

We simply connected the printer to the USB port. We have never connected it to the router because I also installed the router two floors below

Well, then I can think of a solution… So laptop is connected to the printer via USB. Now you uninstall the printer so that almost everything on the laptop has disappeared from the printer. Make everything out. Laptop on, printer on and then the laptop would have to recognize the printer, then reinstall the printer… Perhaps it will. And always do everything in peace, just do not click anything superfluous.
